"HEART OF STONE"
bury those hurts, that we can't seem to face.
We hide them away, so we don't have to cope,
with reality's pain, slowly taking our hope.
Maybe a failure that could not be controlled,
unexpected disasters, causing life to unfold.
Yet we hide these feelings, as it slowly increases,
building up a resistance, while our life falls to pieces.
To protect our feelings, turning heart into stone,
never stopping to think, how this cancer has grown.
Now no one can reach you, they can't climb the wall,
then you wake up one day with no feelings at all.
The pain never left, it has surfaced and found you,
your "Jeckel and Hyde", hurting all those around you.
But instead of losing, letting hate finally win,
let go of your hurt, try to love once again.
To call on Jesus, is the best way to start,
and ask him to please, break the stone in your heart.
Help release all my hate, please forgive all my wrong,
please help me to love, it's been ever so long.
And don't harden your heart, whatever you do,
cause the one who gets hurt, always is you.
To care once again, you feel it's too late,
to let the love flow and forgetting the hate.
